Crime Reduction Reparation Worker
We are looking for an individual, who believe in the power of change to join our Immediate Justice team to work alongside individuals who have committed ASB offences out in the community
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a navigator role within the Immediate Justice programme. In this role you will facilitate reparative work as part of the Out of Court Disposal framework, for adults, a large proportion of which will be male, who have been involved in a variety of anti-social behaviour (ASB) for example, drunk and disorderly, criminal damage and vehicle related ASB. You will take a multi-faceted approach to tackle various aspects of ASB, providing trauma-informed support to service users who have completed their reparative activity. The role involves signposting service users to various external support services including but not limited to restorative justice, drug and alcohol services, mental health practitioners, local councils and social services. The successful candidate will be required to have a full clean driving license for use of a company vehicle.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supporting service users who have been arrested for Anti Social Behaviour in order to navigate them toward a crime free future
• To contact referrals made by Merseyside Police within a maximum of 48 hours to complete a needs based initial assessment
• To signpost on to support services
• To formulate a person centered plan of support for clients and to support individual to work toward reaching subsequent goals.
• Identifying, assessing and minimising risk to individuals
• To work alongside a fellow Navigator to deliver reparative activity sessions for ASB offenders within the community including but not limited to gardening, painting and litter picking.
• Lone working is an integral part of this role as is working as part of a team.
• To work closely with the team delivering restorative justice, to reconcile service users with local communities
• When appropriate, working with and alongside family members will be an important element of this scheme.
• Regular feedback, team meetings and review meetings with line manager.
• Regular communication of updates with officers in charge of an individual’s case.
• Arranging and attending appointments alongside individuals where appropriate.
• Availability and flexibility to include evening and weekend shifts if necessary
• Following up and completing all appropriate paperwork and details of client; including on line reporting. Including, weekly reviews, daily logs and inductions. Using the ZOHO CMS system to complete these tasks.
• Ensuring progression of the client personally and through the journey within the criminal justice system.
• Liaising and working in partnership with organisations and individuals regarding both the client and Causeway in a professional manner - including but not limited to Merseyside police, HM Probation service , Crown Prosecution service, DMAT as well other agencies and medical professionals.
• Identifying along with other key performance indicators and ensuring accurate logging of support provided.
• Ensuring all paperwork is being completed correctly and in a timely fashion.
• Carrying out inductions, weekly reviews and updating IT system.
• Ensuring adherence to all internal procedures regarding Causeway, the client and legislation.
• Promoting Causeway – this may include attending events on behalf of Causeway as a whole or as part of a team.
• Applicants must be willing to work with either male or female service users depending on the service needs , however it is anticipated that in line with national data that the majority of service users will be male.
